A Visit To The Doctor

bad poetry

As old age gets to be much nearer
It all becomes a hell of a lot clearer
Brain gets more twisted and bent
Doctor’s visits become more frequent

It’s not something every one appreciates
We don’t all like what it is the doc states
But I knew I had very little alternative
Making an appointment was imperative

The doctor put me through every test he knew
Looking for anything he needed to pursue
I sat patiently with each test that he ran
From blood pressure up to a cat scan

After three hours it appeared he found nothing
I didn’t think the news would be that crushing
Apparently I was in quite good health
‘Cept for one ailment that arrived in stealth

The diagnosis did not need to be defined
There was no denying that I was colour blind
The doctor himself walked with a hirple
But the news to me came right out of the purple

(One-eyed, one-horned, flyin’ purple people eater)
    A one-eyed, one-horned, flyin’ purple people eater
Sure looks strange to me (one eye?)…”

“See I keep lying to myself
don’t know what else there is to do
if I could be somebody else
well I think I would for you”

  4. “You see it’s our style to keep it true
I’ve had a bad year, a lot to go through
I’ve been knocked out, beat down, black and blue
    … coming back for you
    … coming back for you”. : )

  5. Lol … “butterfly kisses” goodnight! : )

Got something to say? Drop it here!
