So instead of working on editing my book here I am again writing another quick and easy post. But this one’s important so bear with me! Not only is this important it’s going to include both the daily prompt for border and the discovery challenge for animal.
So how does Border and Animal coincide? That’s easy Border Collie. And when the name Border Collie comes up there is only one image in my head. Dog! That right not dog but Dog with a capital D. For those who don’t know Dog this is him.
Dog was the lead character of the cartoon series Footrot Flats. I grew up with Dog, Wally, Cooch, Rangi and Horse. Dog was the pet I wanted but could obviously never have.
Footrot Flats was about life on the farm, the trials, the tribulations and the humour as told from the dogs perspective.
Over twenty seven books (plus a few extras), a movie, a stage show and even a theme park in New Zealand Footrot Flats was a success because of Dog.
If you haven’t read Footrot Flats do yourself a favour and hunt out a few copies, they aren’t usually that expensive (although I have seen one special edition hard cover for $120), they are a quick and easy read but they are a good insight into the world of a farmer, well a farmer’s dog.
So if I could have any pet it would be Dog!
