Daily Prompt, humor, writing

Perplexed

For some reason tonight I am Perplexed, baffled even. I have my ideas laid out for my new novel, I have multiple sections ready for writing and I know the ending (something I haven’t known before starting my previous novels) but I can’t think of how to start the damn thing.

So instead of coming up with something interesting for the prompt I decided to go with easy.

Is there anyone else in this world who looks more perplexed, more baffled than this guy? (maybe it’s just me)

You can nearly see Beaker saying some of the memes that his face appears on 🙂

  3. Thanks for the chuckle.

Re: your novel. Recent novel readings have re-emphasized (stuck on re: now) just how important beginning is! Find a good, intriguing one. What’s your novel about, btw?

I agree that the start of a novel is important but I also realise that there is different variations of ‘important’. With my recently finished novel I thought I needed to go straight into the action and the reason for the story but I have since realised there is more important things that can be done than hooking the reader into action within the first paragraph

My editor has introduced me to a whole new world of introductions. Hasn’t helped this novel yet, the idea has been floating around in my head for ages but I was ignoring it until I finished the other book which also meant I forgot to think of a start point. I might even just start writing and come back to the start.

This novel is a bit of tit for tat female v male v mother/mother in law. It’s probably not going to be as horror based as my previous ones but it wont be a G rated story either.

Got something to say? Drop it here!
