Surface Big Bear Episode 12.
I was laying in bed, in the dark, the only light in the room was the orange glow emanating from the digital clock on my chest of drawers. I could hear Jen’s deep breathing, indicating she was asleep, coming from the other side of the bed. Between us lay four plush boofheads, Tickles the Tiger, Golly, Snowflake and Big Bear, which I assumed were also asleep.
The clock told me it was 2:54am, I wasn’t sure why I was so awake at that hour of the morning but I was hardly surprised given that it was a semi regular occurrence. I felt sleepy and I knew I would eventually nod off again even if it was only for an hour or so but for some reason I knew it wasn’t going to happened immediately.
I was just about to roll over onto my side when I felt a tap on my shoulder.
“Maybe you’ve forgotten something.” I heard Big Bear say quietly.
“Is this a joke?” I whispered knowing exactly what the beer was referring too.
“No joke, I just thought maybe you needed a prompt to remember something.”
“You do realise that ‘maybes’ and ‘jokes’ don’t pay me enough to keep you in the lap of luxury that you think you deserve?”
“Think? I don’t think I deserve it I know I deserve it.”
“Ok I’ll make you a deal. I’ll give you a story tomorrow if you can predict the daily prompt.”

As the bear smirked I fell asleep
